The Hangman #2 |

That's all that happens. No action. Some dialogue that someone thought was clever, and some halfway decent art. |

The Black Hood #1 |

To be honest, I found it pretty much by the numbers and fairly tedious. The art and the black pages really make the comic gritty. |

King: Prince Valiant #1 |
Mar 6, 2015 |
As first issues go, this one gave me no clue of where the series, or the character is going, and really no reason to buy the next issue. I certainly hope next issue is better. |

Pretty art, but really not a lot of story. |

Big Trouble In Little China / Escape From New York #1 |

A fairly good beginning, and a plausible way to get two very different concepts together. Not bad. |

King: Mandrake the Magician #1 |
Mar 9, 2015 |
A good effort, and the cartoonish art by Jeremy Treece helps to sell the surrealist magic at work in the book. |

A solid issue. We'll see exactly who and what Jungle Jim actually is in subsequent issues. |

Captain Midnight #0 |
Jul 7, 2013 |
A collection of three short feature in Dark Horse Presents gets right to the action, with a refreshing lack of self doubt and self pity. I really hope the villain Xog, King of Saturn appears soon. |

Joe Frankenstein #1 |
Mar 5, 2015 |
A great first issue. This is a different take on the Frankenstein Monster - the most unusual that I've seen in a long time. Nolan's art is excellent. There's a promise of appearances by most, if not all, of the Universal Monsters sooner or later. |

Joe Frankenstein #2 |

There's plenty of fodder in the Universal Monster roster, and the traditional folklore of every culture on earth. I'm already looking forward to next issue! |
