Avengers (2012) #9

Apr 11, 2013

The art on this comic though is perfectly fine and looks decent. There's nothing particularly memorable or exciting about it outside of one panel, but everything is fine. The one exception that I can think of is that these gods, Ex Nihilo and Abyss, are not as threatening as they used to look in the first arc. They look rather silly at points with how the artist drew them.

Catwoman (2011) #19

Apr 17, 2013

The artwork is decent; it flows well from panel to panel and everyone is drawn very well. Also, despite the fight scene with Vortex being more like filler, it was really exciting and intense. Occasionally though, the artwork has some moments where people do this weird Stalone impression with their lips and Catwoman's entire body becomes extremely elastic.

Miss Fury #1

Apr 4, 2013

Finally, there's the art of this comic and man, it doesn't really help matters. The coloring is nice and the action scene at the beginning is decent, but that's it. The layouts at times can be boring, and nothing is particularly eye catching. The real stand out feature, however is the facial expressions. The characters are extremely creepy with their emotionless eyes (which are occasionally looking off in different directions) and extremely disturbing smiles.

Action Comics (2011) #19

Apr 3, 2013

Action Comics #19 (DC Comics)The story takes place a year ago (what year and for what event is not clear) with Superman somewhere in the Middle East, checking things out for a news story with Lois Lane. He gets a tip about a shipment of weapons being smuggled into the area, which ends up being guarded by some extremely weird mechs. From there, we get a long, stretched out action scene and a revelation about who exactly is bringing in the shipment and the true sinister purpose for it.

Constantine (2013) #2

Apr 11, 2013

Yes, it's pretty good and this second issue was a step up from last time. I recommend it, but keep in mind, this may not be the Hellbazer you love or want.

FF (2012) #5

Mar 27, 2013

The art is very eye-pleasing to say the least; Mike Allred draws very appealing people, locations, and action scenes in his pop art style that perfectly fits the tone of the comic. Though his layouts are kind of boring and I swear I've seen some of these people before in the other comics he drew.

The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys #2

Jul 11, 2013

Things ramp up in this issue as a greying Cherri-Cola and "The Girl" reunites for the first time in a long time to play their part in the destruction of the BL/Ind Corporation and the heroes of the desert plot to overthrow the corrupted "Bat" city. I did have a little bit of a hard time following the plot at times due to having to follow so many characters and having such a complex plot mixed with the names of the people/places being strange and hard to remember at times. Qualms aside The True lives of the Fabulous Killjoys is interesting, entertaining and refreshingly different and I am hooked until the end of this kooky tale.
