Overall, the story left much to be desired and the dialogue at times seemed to be a cheap grab at shock and awe. It is possible the story will improve as the storylines converge in more meaningful ways. The art is solid throughout, highlighted by Tamura and a great cover by Christopher Mitten. If youre a big fan of Ghostface Killah, you might want to give this book a shot.

The true star of the book is Robertsons art of course. Some of the best work hes ever done in fact. He completely captures the essence of this insane acid trip of a world. There are some layouts in here that make the book worth the price all by themselves. This book surely wont work for everyone (what does?), but fans of Robertson (and fans of quirky fun) should definitely give it a chance.

Niles and Wachter paced this series perfectly, and this last issue was as great an ending a reader could ask for in a miniseries. Though many readers will no doubt be left wishing there was more, the story really did come full circle in a beautiful way. At times haunting and melancholy, and other times spirited and heartwarming, Breath of Bones was poignant to the last panel. The last words by Niles really stick with you. This book cannot be pigeonholed to any specific genre, and it should be read by any reader looking for quality storytelling.

Freedman and Grace themselves described the goal of the series as having been to create a product of their friendship-music, video games, inside jokes, fashion, and fun. These creators definitely live up to that goal, and more importantly, they make the reader feel like theyre in on the joke too. Readers will feel like they themselves are enjoying a ridiculously fun time with good friends. What more could you ask of a comic book? This book is highly recommended, and the only complaint is that it'll only last three issues.

Dark Horse has another solid book on its hands here and the potential for a great one. Readers should definitely check this book out, especially if they already enjoyed the zero issue or the FCBD story. Fans of Williamson will surely want to see what he's up to on this book as well. Captain Midnight #1 leaves off with many unanswered questions, and the promise of much more action in the oncoming issues. Williamson is guiding the book well and if the art is consistent, this book will be a hit for Dark Horse.

Last but not least, Head Lopper has a pin up gallery of all-star illustrators. Readers will really enjoy seeing pieces by Toby Cypress, Tradd Moore, Brian Churilla, James Harren, and Warwick Johnson-Caldwell. The fabulous pin-ups are almost a reason by themselves to pick up this book. Hopefully, future issues will continue this tradition.

The four other stories werent quite as strong, but each held their own. All of the creators brought their own sense of style and humor. Its very evident that they all had fun making this book. Hoax Hunters: Case Files is a great read for any comic fan, and just may convince some readers to go check out the core title.

Rucka and Lark are a perfect combination for Lazarus. Ruckas plot and script are brought to life by Larkss layouts and pacing. Larks attention to detail is amazing and every panel is to be appreciated. Extraordinary storytelling is only achieved by great writing and art working together and these guys have really nailed it so far. Despite the dystopian backdrop, character and story will always win out. If you havent read Lazarus yet, stop what youre doing and go do whatever it takes to get these issues.

Saint Chaos is a smashing debut of yet another great creator owned comic. Readers interested in finding this book should look for it here. This is the first issue of a four issue arc, but Dorsey states the goal is an ongoing series. If sales can support the book, Dorsey and Huszka have plenty up their sleeves. Simon has three days left to live, and he promises to enjoy the hell out of them, the same could be said for the readers.

Suicide Risk is another great comic in a recent string of successes from BOOM! Studios. Readers of the first three issues will certainly enjoy this latest installment, and be very eager for the next installment. Readers who haven't checked it out should consider looking into this quality book while it's still early. Trade waiters shouldn't have to wait much longer either. Some of the earlier issues had a few plot-hole issues, but this fourth issue was really strong and the book has been getting better and better. Mike Carey is a creator that has proven worthy of your faith and patronage. Suicide Risk promises to deliver for many more issues.
