Batgirls (2021) #2

Jan 11, 2022

Cass and Stephanie are fascinating characters, long overdue for a new series focused on them, so the lackluster performance of Batgirls #2 is a real shame.

Frozen 2: The Manga #1

Feb 9, 2021

SummaryFrozen 2: The Manga is just average in the end. It's disappointing, but despite Tanemura's strong storytelling abilities, the issues with the art are just too noticeable to ignore. If you're a Frozen 2 superfan you might want this for your collection, but personally, I'd rather just watch the movie.

Future State (2021): Harley Quinn #2

Feb 2, 2021

Future State: Harley Quinn #2 is the final issue in this miniseries, and it's a strong ending. Phillips writes Harley Quinn in such an incredible way and creates an entirely self-contained story in just two issues. And with the talents of DiMeo, Infante, Bonvillain, and Peteri, the art is stunning as well. Future State: Harley Quinn is a must-read for Harley fans and anyone who wants to see what the appeal of her character is.

She-Hulk (2022) #1

Jan 17, 2022

This could have been an amazing place for new fans to jump in, and old fans to fall more in love with She-Hulk. But were it not for the art, this book would have been a total dud.

Wonder Girl (2021) #1

May 18, 2021

Wonder Girl #1 has grand ideas, and magnificent art, it suffers from the rushed pacing and a plot too involved for a single issue. Despite these issues, Wonder Girl has great potential. Yara is an interesting character and the art team is talented. Hopefully, as the series continues, the pacing and plot problems will be worked out.

It would have been great if Yaras solo series was continuing. But Wonder Girl #7 is a great story and a good sendoff for her next adventure.
