Decent issue with some good stuff from Black Canary, and the further tension between Hawk and Batman. I'm still not looking forward to this Death of Oracle arc. |

I'd love it if this book got great sales, because that means we'd be treated to more of it. That being said, I'm excited to see more of it, and look forward to see how far it goes. I'm thinking this will end up being a good trade. |

I think this is one of the highest point in the series, O'Malley is able to perfectly challenge the jealousy, melancholy, and conflicted feelings of running into past flame. The book is still very entertaining, actionheavy and high on the joke content, but the emotions he is able to make his characters convey are what make Scott Pilgrim and The Infinite Sadness stand out above the rest. |

Generation Hope #1
Nov 8, 2010 |
Generation Hope shows a lot of promise, and delivers an intriguing first issue. If you are intimidated by the XMen's complicated continuity, you should know that Generation Hope is very new reader friendly, and I was able to catch on despite not reading the main Xtitles. What I'm trying to say is give Generation Hope a chance. You might just like what you find. |

You know, I'm almost hoping for the copout save tactic on Blue Beetle here. He's a good character, and although Winnick needed some sort of emotion to come out of Booster here, I didn't think we needed this again. I'm curious as to how much this series connects to Power Girl, and Wonder Woman, and maybe even Flashpoint. With five issues left, when does Wonder Woman show up? |

New Avengers (2010) #4
Sep 13, 2010 |
Right now, New Avengers is the strongest book of the franchise, even if this issue had some minor flaws. While all the other Avengers book are trying to play outside of their comfort zone, New Avengers, under the watchful eye of Bendis, Immonen, and company, proudly accepts what it is and plays to its strengths. |

New Avengers (2010) #7

This issue is a love letter to the Bendis era of the Avengers, and Immonen is up to the task to embellish any imperfections along the way. Too preoccupied with navel gazing? Perhaps. Flawed? Arguably. Entertaining? I definitely though so. |

It's worth more than the cover price. Starro is awesome and Bedard deserves a lot of credit for getting this title to 28. I'm hoping he has more projects forthcoming. I'm upset that this book is going to be off the stands. |

Good story progression, despite the ending. I'm guessing there's going to be some further mention of Nick Fury's son being dead now. As per usual, still no idea what next issue has in store. |

This is not a perfect issue (like I mentioned above, the first ten pages could have been shortened), but the heist scene is superbly done and more than makes up for it. The characters are compelling and keep you guessing just what is going to happen until the very last page. If you haven't checked it out already, keep your eyes open for the collection, you won't regret it. |

The Stuff Of Legend - A Jester's Tale #1
Aug 25, 2011 |
The Stuff of Legend is one of the most consistently good series I have ever read. The new focus on Jester allows the series to continue exploring the world they have created in new ways, with different types of stories. I cannot wait for more adventures in the sea, with pirates, toys, and by the looks of it, lots of swashbuckling. |

Usually the penultimate issue in any series suffers from a slump, but that is not the case. This issue slows down, but only enough to let you catch your breath and realize how high this roller coaster ride of a comic has gone up, and preparing you for the big drop in the final issue of the series. |

As always, the creative team behind Stuff of Legend works as a welloiled engine, delivering a jaw dropping conclusion while still introducing new elements and plot lines. This is honestly the best issue so far of the series. |

Wolverine: Road To Hell #1

I was tempted to give this a "Byrne It." as not much happens in this issue, but when I considered the page count and price, and that the purpose of this book was to provide samples for upcoming titles, I reconsidered. It's good for what it is, and I think it might help readers make up their minds about upcoming titles, but it is by no means required reading. |
