Boruto: Naruto Next Generations #10
Jan 17, 2021 |
Even with pacing issues and Kawaki's time in Konoha being interrupted, I enjoyed reading Boruto: Naruto Next GenerationsVolume 10. Seeing Naruto take on the leader of such a dangerous organization was great. The artwork elevated the fight to a higher level that will get fans really excited to read. Volume 11 looks to be very promising, especially with how hard nostalgia will hit long-time fans of the Naruto series. |

Dead End Kids: The Suburban Job #1
Dec 14, 2020 |
Overall, I really enjoyed reading Dead End Kids - The Suburban Job #1. Choosing to place the September 11 attacks at the center of the premise was a great choice since it will give younger readers a better sense of how much impact the event had on older generations. With this new series having three new teens at the center of the story, the story's possibilities are immense. |

Dead End Kids: The Suburban Job #2
Jan 25, 2021 |
While I enjoyed the first issue, Dead End KidsThe Suburban Job #2 left me wanting more. While some of my gripes with the first issue were resolved, the new dilemmas brought up in this issue can't be ignored. The flashbacks took over most of the issue and didn't add anything new to the central protagonists. I appreciated the backstory on the series' antagonist, but having under-development main characters makes the series suffer. While the narration elements in the series and the bit of character progression that Amna was given, these elements weren't enough to fully get me invested in this series's second issue. |

My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions #1
Feb 28, 2021 |
Overall, My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions Volume 1 was such a joy to read, especially as a long-time fan of the My Hero Academia franchise. The spin-off series premise emphasizes the new generation of heroes while also setting up the many stories that can be told. While the characters' traits from the series are carried over, there is still character development. The illustrations are incredible, and some even support the overall theme of the spin-off series. Fans of the original series will surely love reading these new adventures while waiting for new stories to be told. |

Super Mario Manga Mania OGN
Jan 3, 2021 |
Even though I didn't know what to expect, I really enjoyed reading Super Mario Manga Mania. The writing of each character and their dialogue fit well into the Super Mario franchise while also adding something unique. Both the illustrations and lettering were excellently done. The manga's final story, which issues a warning before it starts, was one that I formed a completely unexpected special connection with. This is a manga I'll surely be re-reading in the future. |

The Dawn Of The Witch #1
Apr 3, 2021 |
Overall, I enjoyed reading The Dawn of the Witch Volume 1. Not having any real sense of the story or knowledge of any previous work from its writer, the story still made sense and was a great read. The world-building throughout the first volume sets up the world excellently as well as the tone and the dangers that lurk in the shadows. However, the art could at times distract readers from the story in terms of how characters are designed and drawn. Ultimately, this is a series that I will continue to read. |
