Assassin's Creed #1

Nov 1, 2015

We jump to her ancestor, where the year is 1692, during the Salem witch trials. As far as historical settings go, this one has some serious potential. We're set up now, at the end of issue 1 of 5, to get stuck in with what could be an interesting addition to Assassin's Creed lore. It just needs to step up its game and deliver a good hard hit before it falls through the cracks of time.

Back to the Future #1

Oct 20, 2015

The problem with having all of time to play around with is the possibility of a lack of focus. In the creators' defence there isn't any heresy in regards to the legacy of the films, this is just another story along the way for these characters, full of "Great Scott!" exclamations, hopefully delivering some genuine "Great Scott!" moments some time soon.

Daredevil / Punisher: The Seventh Circle #1

May 4, 2016

This is exactly what you want from these two characters, as they deliver a savage blow that will hopefully lead to the series being a serious knockout come its conclusion.

Dark Knight III: The Master Race #1

Dec 2, 2015

Finishing up, of course in Gotham, when Yindel has the Bat held at gunpoint all by herself, the shocking revelation that follows is proper edge-of-your-seat reading, leaving you frantically Googling when issue two hits the shelves. But for Bat-fans and Miller-maniacs alike, this is proper, weapon's-grade storytelling. Never a fool to rush in, this part-history lesson, part-homage to tales gone by is the perfect re-introduction to the world and to the characters, all the while being expectedly unexpected.

Drive #1

Aug 25, 2015

This is indeed an honest adaptation of the source material, which has been shown respect, as well as having its style and sense of urgency cranked up to 11; there's no real messing around here, so you're either along for the ride of your life, or left in the dust of Drive.

Klaus #1

Nov 10, 2015

The art by Dan Mora (also of "Hexed") is a real treat to look at, especially when it comes to the acid trip magic scene towards the end. And that's a pretty decent way to sum it up; "Klaus" blends together in an interesting, easy to look at spell of a read, with its magical quality in its unusual take on a character you never expected would get this kind of treatment. All will be fine, just as long as you can get past the ridiculousness of the whole thing.

Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers (2016) #0

Jan 17, 2016

With the cartoony bonus of "The Ongoing Adventures of Bulk & Skull" as well as the additional "What Time Is It?!" battle with Goldar, this is heavy duty fan service, but will hopefully act as an exciting gateway for newcomers, once issue one lands in March.

The Steam Man #1

Sep 29, 2015

Right now the Steam Man crew are full-time monster hunters, on the trail of The Dark Rider, a vampire with an unending thirst for blood, and a legion of nightmare creatures behind him. With an old score to settle " and hopefully a good bit of the exposition out of the way in this first issue " the stage is set, and it will be mighty interesting to see where the crew of Steam Man go next.
