Overall, the issue works quite well. The wedding is lovely, the characterizations are strong, and the interactions are quite believable. Liu does a very good job of continuing the plot in a way that will satisfy regular readers but not confuse or alienate people who pick up the series for the first time. Astonishing X-Men #50 gets 3 out of 5 stars as a rushed and somewhat typical comic. Issue #51 gets a solid 5 stars for handling a potentially controversial topic with grace and for respecting readers both loyal and new. Overall the pair gets 4 stars. If you're interested in superheroes and gay rights, they're definitely worth a read.

Overall, it's a great read, well-paced and beautifully illustrated. It bodes well for Robinson's plans for the group in the future, earning four out of five stars.

It's an Archie Comic and intended for a younger audience, so there aren't any truly dark moments or shocking dialogue. What Dan Parent has done throughout Kevin's brief history is incorporate a plausible, three-dimensional gay character into the archetypal American town. This story is no different, letting Kevin be just one of the gang and a great gay role model all at the same time. The final reveal with the secret admirer leaves us wanting more and proves that even Riverdale has room to grow. Sweet without being cloying and paced just right for its plot, Kevin Keller #2 earns a solid 4 out of 5 stars. Highly recommended for parents of teens, kids of all orientations, and anyone who wants their nostalgia with a nice dose of how the real world could be.
