Powers In Action #3

Oct 2, 2019

This was an entertaining read full of lighthearted fun. All the characters were hilarious and the dialogue was amusing. Lots of good laughs were had! This series can be enjoyed by people of all ages which I believe is always a plus. Art Baltazar is doing some good work here. Looking forward to the next issue! Bring back Darkstorm!

Black Stars Above #1

Nov 13, 2019

This is certainly a spooky story! I got Lovecraft vibes when reading it and I'm a big fan of that type of psychological horror. The historical setting, the artwork, and the dark colors definitely helped enhance the creepy factor. I loved how the story was told through Eulalie's journal. It was also an especially nice touch that you can see how she crosses out certain things and edits them. The story does go at a slow pace and not a lot was revealed but that's just how it goes. It did a great job of setting up what's to come next. Overall, this was a good first issue and I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Lovecraftian horror. There's a lot of potential here.

Black Stars Above #2

Dec 25, 2019

Is the world meant to be known or do we shape our own realities? These are the tough questions that Eulalie has to constantly ask herself. And worse yet, she has to find the answers alone. This was another great issue that continues to deliver a fantastic eldritch tale. The artwork is simply amazing. I feel like I'm going to say this every issue but it's true. The imagery is just so realistic and combined with the excellent coloring, it's a hauntingly beautiful experience. The musings from Eulalie's journal entries are my favorite part of the comic. Her emotions ooze from each entry and it feels like we're experiencing the journey with her. Black Stars Above definitely has my attention and I can't wait to see how this mystery unravels!

Read Only Memories #1

Dec 18, 2019

I love cyberpunk stories. As a fan of the original 2064: Read Only Memories game, I couldn't wait to give this issue a read. I'm happy to say that it did not disappoint. Lexi is a cool character with a charming attitude. Her personality really resonated with me. Our curiosity gets the better of us sometimes. The artwork was absolutely stunning and the color palette accentuated it perfectly. This issue was a good setup for things to come. I look forward to seeing how this mystery unfolds. If you're a fan of the game or the cyberpunk genre, I'd definitely recommend this series to you.

Rick and Morty vs. Dungeons & Dragons II #3

Dec 5, 2019

Who knew that combining Rick & Morty with Dungeons & Dragons would be this much fun? I love how the D&D mechanics are incorporated into the story. The artwork is absolutely gorgeous. There's so much attention to detail. Rick, the lovable dick, is always an entertaining character. Who doesn't look forward to his crazy antics? I thought it was pretty rad that Jerry took charge and showed leadership. He's usually the butt of many jokes but his D&D knowledge is nothing to laugh about. Show 'em all, Jerry! I just hope he doesn't mess this up. He probably will though. Anyway, this was a fun issue. To all you Rick & Morty and D&D fans out there who haven't checked out this series yet, I definitely think you'd enjoy it.
