Fans of the movie will really enjoy this. I've highly recommended this to everyone coming in to my shop and we've sold out the issue in two days.

It's definitely intended for mature readers and does a decent job giving the hardcore fans what they've been missing with this character"especially in the absence of the ill-fated NBC series.

Mark Waid (Daredevil) does his best to keep the readers intrigued and interested, but this Darling Nun was getting bored with it about halfway. Neil (Fantastic Four) Edwards' art feels understated and out of place at times. He's trying hard to offer us the juxtaposition between reality TV Spektor and real life Spektor. It all seems flat and monotone.

Overall, fans who've been following this run will be disappointed. Sure the art is fantastic and there are some tie-ins to the current events going on the in DCU with Bats 'n Supes, but really it's all just pointless. I get that Damian Wayne is everyone's new favorite Robin, but is it really worth a road this shitty just to get there?

Overall,Spider-Woman #1 is a mediocre continuation of ongoing events that have been unfolding in The Amazing Spider-Man series. Again, its a poor introduction to Jessica Drew, and fansof the character or newcomers to the story will probably be turned off. Feeling underwhelmed is definitely not the way I want to start a new series.

As far as the writing goes, there isnt much direction or plot given to us in this first issue. Yet the readers receive a theme very much on par with weird elements taken from the X-Files, Close Encounters and Ray Bradbury. Its a miniseries so Im curious to see how they keep our attention in such a short span, but for fans of science fiction, this will be an enjoyable read.

In short, X-Men #18 " which makes you wonder why this is one of the few book NOT being renumbered " has a lethal combination of daring sci-fi details, bizarro ideas and quips-in-space may ever-so-satisfyingly remind some of Grant Morrison's famed New X-Men. Your Dutchess will again keep her eyes on this run for a few issues, for the sake of being opened-minded.
