Action Lab: Dog of Wonder Issue #2 is still laying a foundation for the series to be built upon. The themes in this issue deal trust and friendship. Will that be enough to keep reader's loyal and return? That is the barrier this Action League will need to find away around.

Baltimore Empty Graves should be on any horror fans pull list. But not just horror fans, fans of any well written story should take the time to follow the exploits of Lord Baltimore. Then they will all know what it is that does go bump in the night.

Dream Police is an ongoing series that started off as a one shot back in 2005. The new series began back in 2014 and it has taken two years to reach number ten. At this pace, I can almost see a race between Straczynski and G.R.R. Martin on who will finish first. The last few issues have been released at monthly intervals so here is hoping that Straczynskiwill hold station and keep the rest of the issues coming.

Mixing in many D&D references that players/readers will be able to pick up and weaving in a Game of Thrones remark should keep many from putting down this book from the start. Where the story continues from here will tell if we keep with this party or turn around and start rolling up new characters.

G.I. Joe is one of a few franchises that has been in comic book, cartoon, and live action films and then to cross over with another franchise that has also been in comic book, cartoon, and live action films. And while it is still your father's G.I. Joe, the new batch is trying to keep the flame from going out. Yo, Joe.

Giant Days is not your typical comic book. There are no superheros or diabolical villains scheming to take over the world. It is more in the lines of a snap shot of our current world and how we deal with life in general. Esther, Susan, and Daisy are all in pursuit of something and in the end, they all seem to achieve their goals. Where Allison is going to take this, we can only wait to find out in the next issue. So the next time you want your life to be done in pictures, just know that Giant Days is there to show you the way.

Image Comic's Hadrian's Wall is a nice addition to the sci-fi section of today's comic shelf. Slated for an eight issue run, Hadrian's Wall should inspire others to take another look of merging sci-fi with mysteries. Let's see how many issues it will take for the reader to figure out whodunit this time.

Overall, a nice book to find that gives a bit of history without the reader realizing it.

The story line for Kings Quest is good, it has its twists and turns. For some, the modernization of the some of the characters may be not what they expect from an old time comic series. The one problem I really have is from the cover of the issue that I saw. It shows a man in a space suit battling a creature in space. Behind them, if you look very hard, you can see The Phantom in a spaceship. On the cover, the symbols of the heroes are there. However, if you did not know them or if you missed The Phantom, you probably will miss this series as well.

Crossovers are big time events. They do not happen very often and they are very special when they do. Fans of both Lumberjanes and Gotham Academy should celebrate that their respected titles have made it into this very small special group. Issue #1 is on a good start in following in the footsteps of the first superhero cross over.

Mycroft Holmes and the Apocalypse Handbook is set to be a min-series with a monthly publication schedule. This first issue is mature with it's language and art. With a new mystery afoot, this is one where you will have to keep up with your Holmes boys.

As an ongoing series, The October Faction has a unique look that draws heavily upon subject matters that are quite popular now days. A combination of a gothic and macabre material has allowed Niles to weave a story picking and choosing from the best of these tales. The ending of the issue shows the younger hunters trying to do the right thing to help only to make matters worse. Their predicament is the true meaning of being in between a rock and a hard spot. Who will save them? Do they need saving? That will be covered in the next issue, we hope. Take a moment to pick this one up the next time you are near the comic book shelf. If you wanted to see the Adams Family outside of their home, this it the closest we thinghave to seeing it happen.

With these comic books based that are based on past and current movies they all have it's pros and cons. It is always nice to see the expanded universe of a movie played out in books. New characters introduced and we all know the dangers that they will face. The cons though are always lurking in the back, if and when a new movie comes out, will it include these side adventures and award the readers who see the movie with that knowledge or will it simply erase these stories and leave us with that could have been feeling? With this series, there are twelve more issues to go to see if that is what we get at the end if we will want that feeling of could have been or grateful that it was all but a dream.

Snowfall is not your typical comic book with good battling evil and that maybe it's best selling point. It is a cautionary tale on what could happen. There is just enough here to bring the reader back to see how it plays out. This could be a story that readers warm up to in the end.

All four stories are well written and the art work of a future apocalyptic world is very imaginative. What brief glimpse we are given. The only difficulty may be that we will have to jump from issue to issue if you are only interested in one or two of the stories or you might be stuck following all four since they do seem to be keyed together. The question is, will you stay around to unlock them all?

For a reader coming into the series half way thru, unless you were a long time Treker or Trekie, a first time reader would be completley lost. The name dropping and parts with Captain Picard and Data at the beginning of the story and then with them disappearing will leave plenty wondering what they had picked up. With one more book to come out which will complete this saga, it is probably better to wait for the trade paperback. Unless you are a Trekie, and then you will be able to pick this up and have no problem following Spock for one more final trek to the stars.
