It's hard to argue that the storytelling of JC Lacek mixed with the artwork of Vasco Duarte isn't a home run. In comics, it's important that both the art and the dialogue tell the story; in the case of JAZZ LEGEND, the two compliment each other tremendously. It's a tough read though " in the pages of the first issue we see more vices than a prime-time TV episode. I'd definitely say this one is for older teens (which Scout Comics suggest in the promotional materials.)

This is a very good issue of a series that is far different from most other Marvel superhero offerings. Weird story + extraordinary art = a hopefully long run for our favorite mentally unstable superhero.

Dynamite's Red Sonja is a character we all know and love, but the adaptation is something that takes (just a little) getting used to. I'm pleasantly surprised at how much I am enjoying it. It's an updated version of a well-loved character with nods to the old but a bold new vibe in storytelling.
