With just two issues into his run, Mike Costa has set himself and his story arc well apart from the original six issue series that he co-wrote with Jonathan Hickman. Instead of focusing on the divine like Hickman did, Costa has given us a small scale story focusing on the humans surrounding the gods and the toll it takes being in their service and under their subjugation. Actually, this is decently good! I enjoyed seeing how people react to the gods- I just wish I could have seen it when the gods first appeared.
