Valentine's Day can be a rough time of year if your fairytale fantasy doesn't hold up to reality. What are the chances of mending a broken heart on a dating app? Probably not too far off from the chances of mending your broken heart in a sex-positive shop... but, at least at the shop fun is guaranteed!
Alice in Leatherland #3 is another excellent chapter in this stylized romance story that isn't afraid to get messy and real about relationships while riffing off traditional fairy tale tropes in both the character names and the children's book that Alice is writing in-story and using to process her feelings. I can definitely start to see the destination, but the fun of this book is watching Alice find herself and community in her new gayborhood as well as seeing the creative synergy of Iolanda Zanfardino and Elisa Romboli evolve through the series. 'Alice in Leatherland' continues to be a delight. Dare I say it's the 'Ted Lasso' of sexy, funny, gay, rom-coms. The sweet-natured Alice is finding her way amid heartbreak, new friends, and a potential new romance. This is 'Sex and the City' if Carrie Bradshaw was likable, young, queer, and black. While humorous and sex-positive stories of love and misfortune might not necessarily appeal to every comic book reader, they most certainly appeal to this one, and the charm and energy that the creators inject into this tale make it an easy series to recommend. Sweet, wholesome, honest and funny, this is the LGBTQIA+ sex comedy you didn't know you needed in your life. Read Full Review
