Cake is a Card Wars champ who can't be beat, and Fionna...is really tired of getting beaten! They set off in search of a challenger who can really test Cake's mettle. When they stumble across some gamer slugs, they think they've hit the jackpot, but these guys have never heard of Cake and refuse to even play with her!

Fan of the Card Wars app might not want to miss this because of a code that will net a exclusive card. Fans of Fiona and Cake will definitely be on board for the series' trademark adorable, friendly charm. It's probably worth it for the "Lonely Panda" card from the first few pages " that thing is the cutest. People who haven't bought into Adventure Time already might not find much here to bring them on-board, but it's still a beautiful book that will easily find fans among young and old readers alike. This was a good set-up for what seems to be a fun mini-series, and I know fans of Fionna and Cake are eager for more of this duo's adventures. Card Wars is an animated and dynamic game that goes beyond the cards, and among the plays is a literal tornado wall of fire. I absolutely want in on a game where you can play a literal tornado wall of fire. This is what dreams are made of. This game is appropriately dramatic and extreme and Wilson brings it to the page nicely, as well as the melodramatic moments peppered throughout the issue- a dramatic gasp here, an extreme close-up there, and let's not forget the "dramatic fling."
