The crew of the Serenity have some emotional exchanges while they ruminate on missing Shepherd Book, and regret how helpful he could have been with the Monastery, especially with the Monks mourning one of their own.
After Mal leaves the monks with the means to defend themselves, a man with a crutch and a respirator shows up with a boy, revealing a shocking connection to Jayne!
All-New Firefly continues to be a showcase for how something that the audience knows can be easily expanded upon and grown without losing those familiar aspects. There is such love and care on all fronts from this creative team, as they easily navigate a welcome status quo that is leading to new bigger things and giving characters we only thought we knew the room to shine like never before. The issue frames the story again by focusing on Jayne, first with another flashback and then with a surprising ending that could go in a few different directions but will unavoidably change the character. Is Jayne Cobb ready to grow up? That seems to be the question All-New Firefly is looking to answer, which could lead to either a frustrating or delightful new status quo. Read Full Review
