The art of the short story is often forgotten and this two issue delight reminds why many of us have such cherished tiny tales from our formative reading years. There is no expectation to know anything else about the Mike Mignola created universe in order to completely appreciate this tale. If you like supernatural horror that will actually generate a response in your system then this book was made for you. There's no flat space, no wasted panels. While it would have been great to get a third issue out of this story, it was still a fantastic look at the days where Abe and Hellboy were still alive, well, (for the most part) and working together. This is a fantastic book for readers who love these characters and want to read more stories focused on them as well as new readers who may be unfamiliar with the characters and want to learn more about them. I would absolutely give this issue a look. Mignola and Arcudi do it again, and James Harren knocks it out of the part with his fabulous art. Read Full Review
Only in Mike Mignola and John Arcudi's realm can a light-hearted romp involve summoning demons from the pits of hell, an infectious disease that blows you up like Veruca Salt on bad blueberries, a few nice axe chops and a beheading, and enough puss and bile to fill a swimming pool. This review is going to be short and sweet and let me justsay it's worth picking up for the last two pages alone. It's just a reallygreat character moment between two of the BPRD's best. Again, there isn't muchto say about the creative team, they deliver a great product that is wellpolished and a joy to read. If you're into the Hellboy-verse then pick it upand if you're not then go pick up another issue telling some superheroes originfor the fourth time. Like I said, short and sweet. Read Full Review
