    In 1880, Walter Whittier's family contacted Captain Henry Whittier to help them rescue Walter's tormented spirit from a stuffed polar bear. Walter died from the fear of a dragon that haunted his nightmares.

    Manford Jamison, the deceased brother of Walter Whittier's wife, created a diving-style suit that allowed him to travel to limbo, a place between life and death. He used an electrified bar called the Jamison Rod to help spirits react and complete their journey to the afterlife. No one had ever tried this equipment, so Henry offered.
