Plot
This comic is set after the death of Doctor Doom in ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM, where the world fears what might happen in this politically unstable country, as two factions fight for the nation's new leadership.

The two factions are TRUE LATVERIA, led by SALVATION, an iron-masked figure who emulates Doom and seeks to gain sympathy through the resemblance; and LATVERIA LIBERATORS, led by two siblings, Mara and Melor Sandu. Both hold extremist views, believing that if they manage to obtain Doctor Doom's secret weaponry, the world will be in danger.

Steve Rogers is called upon by the new S.H.I.E.L.D., led by Nick Fury Jr. and General Ross (Red Hulk). They ask him to join their team to assault Latveria and seize control of these mysterious weapons before either faction can take power. The catch is that the United Nations has banned any activity by superpowered beings on missions in foreign countries. In other words, the Avengers are prohibited by law, but soldiers with superpowers are permitted if they are part of a government.

Captain America reconciles with Sharon Carter and explains the situation. She tells him he must help save the world with the least bad option. Cap joins S.H.I.E.L.D. because it's a small team without invasion plans. He trains a team consisting of Trevor Tambling, Charles, Joe, and Red Widow.

When this S.H.I.E.L.D. team enters Latveria, they are attacked by Red Hulk, who wants them gone.

This excellent new story arc is set in the present day, detaches from what the series had reimagined, and focuses on the events of ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM.

An excellent start to this story that blends the war genre with the supernatural, with a strong touch of realism since it takes place during real events.

Elvira breaks the fourth wall on every page with clever and sharp jokes, and her brilliant pop culture references will have you laughing non-stop.

This volume closes with the promise of Elvira's return, but this time to Monsterland.

Silvia once again captures the tone and details of each of the classic horror films she references/pays tribute to. Her adaptability, both in terms of spaces and characters, is a visual delight, and she always highlights Elvira's sensuality and mischievousness.

The narrative of this comic slows down due to its accelerated pace, with personal issues that make it difficult to follow the story. It's unclear what's happening and how to connect all the dots.

This exciting and action-packed installment sets the stage for a powerful revelation about Sue Storm that will shake the Marvel Universe.

They appear to be working as a team, because the Red King project is revealed: it consists of fusing Red Skull with the Xenomorph queen. He now controls them like a hive mind and is preparing for a deadly attack on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day.

Baron Strucker is captured, but it turns out he was just a distraction.

This issue includes a brief introduction to Simon and Albert's first adventure, which can be read in REDCOAT TP Volume 1 of this saga. Albert discovers that Benedict Arnold, the other immortal, has returned because a ship dredging the bay floor has moved the wreckage of the SS Majestic, which had trapped Benedict against the seabed. Because he is immortal, he never drowned, but for 17 years he was unable to move. Benedict possesses the Axe of Lies, the only weapon capable of killing both Simon and Arnold. Arnold emerges from the depths of the sea and kills six sailors with the axe.

Simon and Albert prepare to search for Arnold. Simon goes to his boss, the tailor, to tell him about his absence, only to discover Arnold trying on a suit. The two have a tense conversation while Simon takes his measurements, pretending everything is fine. Benedict doesn't threaten him; he accepts that Simon has surpassed him in every way and offers him and his family a gift: immortality.

There is a brief intro to Geiger's tragedy that led him to leave the bunker he thought would protect his family.

Molotov, Nate, and Zig Zag await news of Geiger while defending themselves against soldiers who want to steal Junkyard Joe.

The Northerner explains that he comes from an alternate future where the South won the American Civil War, and the nation was restructured differently. Then, someone shows him a speech by Martin Luther King Jr. from our reality, where the North won, and where this great statesman actually existed.

The Northerner travels through time constantly and must discover what to do in the era he's sent to, like when he managed to stop the change generated in the past with Redcoat's help, ensuring the North's victory (Read REDCOAT TP VOL 2). But now he's in the future and doesn't understand what to do, or if the change he made in the past didn't stop the catastrophic UNKNOWN WAR, where the origin of the nuclear attack remains a mystery.

But the Northerner is constantly receiving help, weapons from another era that allow him to defend himself. Although Geiger doesn't quite believe him yet, he helps him reach Detroit, where there's an information center the Northerner needs to know what to do in this time. But they're intercepted by highway robbers who are crushed by a tank sent to the Northerner as assistance.

This saga begins to reveal key elements for understanding this unknown war and how it connects to Redcoat, Geiger, and Junkyard Joe—a mind-blowing mix of Terminator and Mad Max!

Kitty devises a CIA plan to stop Nemesis, involving radical methods to eliminate him with significant collateral damage. Kitty emerges incredibly unscathed from this attack, but this is no coincidence because it's linked to Nemesis's mysterious pact with a demon.

The Ambassadors were part of this CIA plan, but they never arrived in time; something unknown held them up. Nemesis emerges from the rubble and surrenders unexpectedly.

Kitty is decorated and promoted; her life improves, and she faces fewer risks as an agent. Her baby is born, but there's something macabre about him.

Carmen is accompanied by a talkative and annoying lizard named Yargoss and calls herself the King of the Lizards.

This story is set in 1867, so it blends spaghetti western with supernatural mysteries in a perfect balance.

They encounter the New Avengers, comprised of Wolverine, Black Panther, female Iron Fist, Magik (infected by the zombie virus, but the demon's power prevails), and Doctor Strange. Strange is in his astral form because his physical body is a zombie.

Meanwhile, Reed Richards, Hawkeye, and Iron Man (with the Infinity Gauntlet but without the Mind Stone) are a faction of zombie heroes about to face Captain America, Doctor Doom, Thanos, and Hulk, who refuse to let Iron Man rule them. A battle ensues between zombies: Team Cap vs. Team Iron Man! Even Spider-Man takes off his mask.

This Civil War culminates with Reed Richards, a zombie wearing the gauntlet, snapping his fingers and saying, "No more life."

This comic is part of the "Red Band" line and therefore includes explicit violence, gore, blood, and terror.

This story is interesting because it's told from Janet's point of view. She's a determined and enterprising woman who loves Hank, whom she initially saw as an obstacle, but he never was.

Everything is set for the end of this saga with Ultimate Endgame, which premieres in December.

T'Challa lives in hiding and is being trained by Matt Murdock, as he recovers and prepares to stop the atrocities of his son, Ketema. In his desperation, since his father's body hasn't been found, Ketema uses the Inhuman dog Lockjaw to teleport all of Marvel's heroes to a prison.

The Vatican has not recognized Ketema as the new King of Wakanda.

Ketema is creating global chaos so that all nations will be begging Wakanda for help and thus become dependent on it. He is using a strategic plan devised by his father, T'Challa, for an apocalyptic event.

T'Challa organizes and recruits Everett Ross, Punisher, Killmonger, Okoye, and several members of the Dora Milaje to stage a coup.

Daredevil is concerned about T'Challa's destabilizing plan and prepares to stop him.

In this awesome special edition Roxxon "apologizes" for the swimsuit magazine where they used AI to sell images of Marvel heroes (see Marvel Swimsuit Special: Friends, Foes & Rivals #1). Now, to redeem themselves, they've unveiled a device to stop global warming and tested it in the Savage Land, freezing the entire tropical climate.

The Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and every other Marvel hero arrive in the Savage Land to stop this, led by Rogue. The twist? When they go to put on the winter suits created by Janet Van Dyne, a dinosaur eats them, leaving them all in skimpy outfits—very sexy and funny.

It includes many spectacular splash pages from various leading artists in the industry, featuring the heroes posing in different winter landscapes in very little clothing. It's a comic full of comedy and self-awareness.

This comic connects to ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM #9.

The Fantastic Four and the newly decorated General Ross are summoned to the White House by Secretary of Defense Brooke to reprimand them for the interventionist action of planting a flag in Latveria (see Red Hulk #10) and Reed's negligence in not stopping Doom in time, even though he operates with complete freedom, answering to no one, not even the government.

On another note, it's revealed that Valeria Richards is the heir to all of Doctor Doom's assets, something that dismays her and which she wants to reject, but legally cannot.

But out of nowhere, an army of Doombots begins attacking the White House and all the major cities on the planet in what amounts to a coup d'état. Valeria knows she has access to Doom's technology because she owns it. She arrives at the mysterious island Doom used for his experiments and manages to deactivate all the Doombots while having a final conversation with one that carries a message from Doom. Valeria intends to donate all the money to create a Foundation to help those affected by Doctor Doom's actions.

However, Valeria keeps the island and all her research because she has a contingency plan for the future.

The Secretary of Defense pardons General Ross and offers him a consulting position for a near-future invasion of Latveria, while the world remains shocked by Doctor Doom's disappearance, with many still in favor of his tyrannical methods.

Violet is unleashed and is burning down the Sigma Iota sorority, fighting against Karma, the leader whose negligence caused her death.

Sophie is trapped in this limbo, surrounded by specters trying to convince her to surrender to the void and give her body to Violet. Sophie manages to break free and saves Karma, but then tries to drown herself in the same pool where Violet died. Violet repents and sets Sophie free, but Sophie is arrested for all the crimes Violet committed with her body.

But the ending is shocking: Violet took advantage of the moment Karma and Sophie fell into the pool to possess Karma's body. Now she is free and has the life she always wanted, while Sophie remains in prison.

This series is magnificent, brilliant, and fantastic. It delves into the horror and slasher genres, even featuring a fake ending that adds a chilling twist to everything.

It's detailed, and through mesmerizing sequences and chilling splash pages, all underscored by a somber tone, it manages to send shivers down your spine more than once. The art offers excellent anatomization, allowing for easy comparisons.

This issue includes SPECTACULAR splash pages; it's possibly the installment with the best and most impactful art in the entire saga.
