The final issue in this epic bit of African folklore reimagined by Mike Mignola is a unique collaboration between Hellboy's creator and comics legend Richard Corben and features a cover and twenty-one pages drawn by Corben, plus a three-page epilogue from Mignola.
Hellboy: Makoma is a head scratcher. Mignola relates his Just So... story in a smooth technique that's filled with wit. Corben beautifully captures the tone and Mignola's impressions. Confusing but kind of good. I imagine Hellboy felt the same way. Read Full Review
All in all, this is a good issue of Hellboy that is sure to please some fans while upsetting others. For me, its a quality comic book that doesnt offer many of the thrills I look forward to month in and month out. Read Full Review
