    Mignola's shadows are more than just trappings. They're part of Hellboy's signature. I was a little concerned when I learned that Duncan Fegredo was slated to be artist on this latest Hellboy excursion. I like Fegredo's work, having encountered it on several Batman cover paintings, but would he be suitable for Hellboy? The answer is yes. Fegredo follows Mignola's patterns to the letter and adds more detail to the characters to make them his own. The latest Hellboy ride promises to be a good one. Read Full Review

    While a good grasp of Hellboy history will certainly aid any reader with Darkness Calls, it isnt completely necessary. The story is strong enough that it may also make some readers curious enough to learn more about what has passed before. However, whether or not readers will enjoy this book will greatly depend on how much they enjoy the mood it creates throughout. Read Full Review
