This was my first experience of The Strain in any form, and it definitely wont be the last. Strongly written, through provoking, and strikingly illustrated, this is a must read for all. Read Full Review

THE STRAIN: THE NIGHT ETERNAL is off to a great start. While not a good place at all for a new reader to jump on, especially if they've been enjoying the series on FX, it's still a series folks should check out. It's written incredibly well and the dialogue is real and natural. Huddleston's art gets even better here as well. The world sucks here, figuratively and literally, but it's easily one of the better books I've read this month. Read Full Review

Comic Bastards - James Anders II Aug 20, 2014

This story is bad, read bad. Damn, I said it again. It is bad, but every element of the story is amazingly good even if the subject matter is so dark. I highly recommend this title for anyone looking for some creepy fun with an excellent and vibrant story. You get both here and this one is definitely one for reading with the lights dim and no distractions. It is a total horror experience in a stylish comic portrayal. Read Full Review

If you've been aroundsince the beginning, there's no reason for you not to continue with “The Strain: The Night Eternal” #1. With the creative team-up of Lapham and Huddleston, they have done an amazing job translating the bleak tone and spirit of the novel into the comic book medium. Read Full Review

Many of the characters are still here from the TV show (Vasiliy, Nora, Eph) which gave me an instant familiarity and sucked me right in to the story. Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan still have story credit, while comic adaptor David Lapham (Stray Bullets) delves further into the history and a touch of origin of The Master. My only personal gripe? I'm just not into the art of Mike Huddleston (Harley Quinn). Sure his style fits with the dark and grit of the show, but it's a little messy " perhaps even flat " for my taste. Read Full Review
