SUPERMAN: THE COMPLETE NEW KRYPTON SAGA, Part 8
"New Krypton" part 7! As Superman attempts to free the other cities and abductees from Brainiac's ship--including the original monster military unit, the Creature Commandos--Lex Luthor experiments on Brainiac himself. Meanwhile, rebuilt and out for blood, Metallo and Reactron attack, and a major turning point for one of our characters sheds a dark shadow across all that is good.

The simple fact that an issue like this is taking place so late into "New Krypton" leaves me seriously worried about the overall impact of the crossover. At this point Johns and his collaborators have precious little time to accomplish what they set out to do. Forget matching the impact of "The Sinestro Corps War," at this point I'm just hoping for a crossover that doesn't fizzle out. Read Full Review

Still, things are definitely rolling ahead towards the big conclusion. Big turning points are hit here, and it's hard to not get a little excited about what's next in "New Krypton." There are numerous ways that I can see this story going, and I appreciate the fact that Johns and company have kept me from pointing at one and saying, "Yes, this is how it will all end." In many ways, "New Krypton" is to the Superman group of books what "Sinestro Corps War" was to Green Lantern's two comics; a creative kick in the pants that brings out the best in all comics involved. "Action Comics" #872 is easily the weakest installment of this story to date, but when your weakest is still a good (if not great) comic, that's a good sign indeed. Read Full Review
