This book is absolutely amazing and this is issue is one of the best yet. I adore how Bane is written, I love Batwomans idea of interviewing and interrogating Batmans rogues about his mentality, his methods and any possible weaknesses he possesses. Its a series of amazing scenes that do a great job setting the tone of the book along with the scenes of Bette training with the elite squad The Murder of Crows. If theres one thing this book knows how to do, its establish tone, but if there are two things, they are: establish tone and provide a consistent level of excellence. Batwoman is the best Bat-book youre not reading and you owe it to yourself to start as this is actually a pretty good jumping-on issue (but scoop up the last two if you can, theyre both great).  This series remains enjoyable in both plot and art, but structural issues continue to bog it down for me, and once again, this issue just ends very abruptly. Batwoman is a fun book. J.H. Williams III and W. Haden Blackman don't always quite explain everything as thoroughly as maybe they ought to, but a close reading often allows a filling in of the blanks, which sometimes works better. And while Williams is still missed on art duties, Trevor McCarthy seems to be getting better with every issue, which is saying something, because he was already pretty good to start with. I don't rightly know how my DC pull will look come October, but I have a funny feeling that Batwoman will still be there. Read Full Review

"Batwoman" #22 is in many ways a middle of the road comic. It's not bad, but it doesn't dazzle either. It gets the job done, though, and there's a real promise given here of big stories to come in the next couple of issues. If those deliver, the transition time here will have been well worth it.
