Regardless, Booster finishes strong on its fun, old-school debut arc, and is only getting better as it progresses. A shake-up is suggested for the next arc, but with the talent involved on the book I'm confident it's only going to be as excellent as the first. Read Full Review
Booster Gold #5 was another excellent read. Johns and Katz continue to make Booster Gold one of the stronger reads currently on the market. I strongly recommend that you give this title a try. It is certainly worth the cover price. I will admit that to truly enjoy this title to its fullest potential, that the reader needs a solid knowledge of the history of the DCU. Having said that, I do think that Johns and Katz give enough back ground information to make this title an enjoyable reader for readers with a limited knowledge of the history of the DCU. In the end, this is a perfectly entertaining story that is capably illustrated and furthers the plot of the story arc while maintaining the illusion of character development. Had they chosen their source material more wisely, this one might have been good for extra bases. As it is, its a bloop single, a must-read for Booster fans that can easily be missed by anyone else.
