But was this an 'event'? Did this feel 'big enough' for this month? I almost wish this story ended with Brainy's decision to join the Legion as that might have felt like an deal to validate the issue. But I think if someone who never read Legion before picked this up that they would be either unimpressed, lost, or both. The art saved the book again; I think however if the Fatal Five story doesn't do well, it will be the end of this book; sales have dropped considerably just as DC is contemplating their new wave of books. As for this month's quick history lesson, the Fatal Five debuted as a team in Adventure Comics #352, with the following members: Valdiaus, Tharok, Mano, the Persuader and the Emerald Empress. It will be interesting to see if they ill be the same members with the same powers. Back to normal sequential order next moth. Read Full Review
All in all, it's a nice solid Legion story, with some groundwork being laid for future events, giving us a little glimpse into the mind and past of the most mysterious Legionnaire. The art is fine work throughout the issue, and while I have a few quibbles (after all, this is a Legion book, and I'm known to have some opinions about that property) it's a successful overall issue. "Legion of Super-Heroes" #0 is a perfectly acceptable zero issue; it has some nice art, and a story that more or less works. As an added bonus, this issue actually having a direct connection to upcoming storylines means that the book didn't have to come to a complete screeching halt, as did the fact that "Legion: Secret Origin" ended less than a year ago. I don't think this issue will necessarily pull in any new fans, but it won't alienate any existing ones either. Read Full Review
