    There are some intriguing plot machinations dealing with the One Year Later theme, as the heroes seem to have entered the blood shield and never come back out. Leaving it standing for a year where a town used to be seems unlikely for a world with a JLA, but Im very intrigued as to where this is going.     In terms of content, this is how a first issue should be played. As long as Willingham keeps it to DCU Magic 101 for us newbies, hell have successfully freed the magic genre from Vertigos stranglehold. Read Full Review

    Willingham's art is average. I don't dislike and I don't love it. It pretty much leaves me neutral. I think some panels look others and others look weak. His art lacks a lot of detail. The overall panels look to plain and simple. It may be his inking that is too heavy and gives a very simple look to the art. Read Full Review
