    Comics Bulletin - Kevin Powers Mar 21, 2008

    FX is definitely the surprise hit of the week. Its fun, fairly original and plays off of the superhero genre extremely well. His powers are original and visually stimulating and there is a great deal of room for the character to grow. Wayne Osbourne and John Byrne have struck gold and IDWs superhero universe is shaping up to be very intriguing. This is my Pick of the Week. Read Full Review

    I'm not big into hero books, but I gotta admit, this book is a fun read. I'm sure many people will like it because of John Byrne's nostalgic feel. Now, back to my usual poor guy rant. Why the $3.99 tag? It's not licensed, and I don't want fancy paper stock if I can pay $1 less. I know that IDW is an independent publisher, but some people can't afford that extra buck on the cover.     One gets a sense from the stories in these two issues that FX isn't the first super-hero to appear in this world; there are established super-villains after all. In that respect, FX reminds me of Robert Kirkman's Invincible and Erik Larsen's Savage Dragon. Fans of those less mainstream super-hero titles will no doubt appreciate what Osborne and Byrne are doing in FX. Read Full Review
