Collected for the first time in a deluxe edition are the comics that deserve it the least: the infamous Eerie Publications' horror comics! Incredibly gory and crazy, the Eerie Pubs pushed the boundaries of good taste with blood-drenched, spine-cracking tales ripped (and redrawn) from the pages of Pre-Code horror comics. Illustrated terror by Dick Ayers, Chic Stone, Domingo Mandrafina, the Iger Shop, and many other unsung masters of the morbid, presented in glorious, carefully re-mastered black and white. And who can forget those nausea-inducing covers? A dirty dozen of deadly, full-color covers are reproduced for your discomfort and revulsion more

Hopefully, Eerie Publications will experiencethe same kind of revival, much the way that Grindhouse movies are seeing aRenaissance in Movies (Grindhouse, Machete, Hobo with a Shotgun) and Comics (SCUM OF THE EARTH, SALLY OF THE WASTLAND, GRINDHOUSE: DOORS OPEN AT MIDNIGHT, VANDROID, etc). Eerie Publications, with it's aesthetic of over-the-top gore and shock deserve recognition and understanding. They are an important part of our history - not only in terms of horror comics, but in terms of comics as a whole. Read Full Review

In the end, The Worst of Eerie Publicationswill appeal to straight up horror fans, lovers of well crafted black and white art, and to those who are pining away for the horror publications present in the sixties and seventies. Although these stories don't stand up as well as the best from Warren, EC, or Skywald, they are still worthy additions to a collector's library. A time capsule from the heyday of American horror comics, this collection truly captured that time period. Any fan should be more than satisfied by the stories within. Pick it up, and let the fun begin. Happy reading! Read Full Review
