Lets face it; Brooklyn is a tough place to live. Add to that a pissed off marked man with a sawed off shotgun trying to save his family and you got some bloody fun as only GARTH ENNIS can deliver. Bob Saetta and his old flame Maggie Mahoney travel back to the old neighborhood in Bensonhurst to shake up the unshakeable, and realize that home sweet home has now become a blood-spattered hostile environment.
Even with all of the crawling aspects of the book, the overly gruesome action makes up for it and earns a bullet alone. Bobs skill with a shotgun is flawless, which he demonstrates more than once in this issue, winding it up the with a crimson bloodbath cliffhanger. Bobs mystery has to be in issue #3 right? Ennis and Palmiotti do get things right in making "Back to Brooklyn" #2 very new-reader friendly and explains everything someone who missed the first issue would need to know to follow along. Sadly, the plot isn't likely to keep said new reader engaged, or make him or her want to read issue three. Read Full Review
