Maika must confront the embodiment of her child self, whose tragic mistakes she has long been unable to face-or even remember. If she fails, there's no telling what the Defiled Monstra will do to her young self's ghostly presence.
Monstress #46 is a fairly dense issue, as many are, but a lot of the individual bits of the story come together here and it feels like the issue is a massive turning point for everyone involved on Golga. Read Full Review
As powerful as the visuals continue to feel, it all begins to feel like one big, strange wallpaper as the prison break approaches. The planet Golga is impressive, but there isnt enough variation from panel to panel. It all tends to blur together in a way that can drone a bit in the background visually. There isnt anything visually dynamic going on beyond the vision of this other world...and so it feels like a long, slow slog through the prison. Not exactly dazzling, but it DOES present a very haunting and disturbing image that continues to burrow its way through another issue and the mind of the reader. Read Full Review
