The new year gets off to a bloody start when the all-new Bloodhunter unleashes a one-man assault on Youngblood's Tokyo HQ. Meanwhile, in the states, an adversary from the original team's past starts to pull himself back together.
Rob Towe and Chad Bowers continue onward with sure footing and real determination in the clear effort to make this series of Youngblood speak to longtime fans and attain the one thing that has alluded previous volumes and creative efforts. There is a little bit of drift settling into this series. After a tight first arc the story-line has floated pleasantly along, and this issue doesn't really do anything to really kick things into a higher gear. It is a pretty average issue, and the art is good, but there is a need to get a few meaty plot strands functioning in this title if it is to avoid the fate of previous Youngblood series. Though somewhat hollow, the issue makes good use of its characters' abilities to plan, adapt, and act quickly for an entertaining few pages in an otherwise expositional batch of pages likely setting the stage for something further down the line. Read Full Review
