Yatora makes the best of a bad situation during TUA's first exam, and he must surpass these efforts for the second. But after all he's gone through, Yatora is feeling a little out of sorts. To get back on track, he'll have to step out of the studio and into new lighting... With the help of an old friend, Yatora bares his soul and some skin to take on his latest challenge: the nude self-portrait.
Looking back at Yatora in Volume 1, its fascinating to see now how hes changed. Yamaguchi portrays a very different young man at the beginning: his expression is self-confident but detached, hes rocking the bleached hair and pierced ears delinquent look. Making his own art strips away all those outer defences hes erected to protect himself; the Yatora in these chapters is vulnerable, filled with self-doubt yet able to talk honestly with Yuka for the first time.
