    Before you head to the theater to witness the return of the king, do yourself a favor and check out this graphic novel. It'll leave you even more pumped up than you already are for the flick. Hell, I'm more excited after reading this than I was before and I did not think that was humanly possible. It sure seems like the writers understand the source material, and because Max Borenstein also wrote the movie, it should give you confidence that Godzilla is in good hands. Read Full Review

    As with Pacific Rim, Legendary Comics has released a hardcover prequel for Godzilla to get fans even more excited for the upcoming movie. Often movie tie-in comics fall flat but the story here does provide some interesting tidbits about how Godzilla will be interpreted in the movie. We get some cool moments in the comic but with multiple artists, some parts felt a little rushed and hard to follow. Fans of Godzilla and the upcoming movie should consider checking this out.     I love that Legendary is making efforts to produce movie prequels, but something needs to change. This book is plagued by the same problems that the “Pacific Rim” prequel graphic novel suffered from: lazy storytelling and rushed art. While I hope Legendary continues publishing film-related material, they need to be handled with more care if they expect comics fans to continue supporting them. Read Full Review
