Moviegoers will quickly point out that sequels seldom surpass the original, particularly when a new director takes the helm. It must be said, though, that in the world of comics there occasionally arises a spin-off or continuation that challenges its source material in greatness. 1602: New World is not that sequel, but it is encouraging that Marvel is revisiting the concepts. Just as Sandman, another Neil Gaiman classic, took several mediocre Sandman Presents series to give birth to the dazzling Lucifer, Marvel will no doubt find some amazing talent to restore the 1602 franchise to glory. Wow, Iron Man is cool. But story isn't that cool... It's more interesting, than the previous issue, but the art... It's so bad here... This artist just stopped to try to do the best he could. These faces... So creepy and awful. And it feels more like a Peter's solo story, which he shares a bit with the Hulk. Then Spider-Man has 2 limited 1602 series he-he...
