Summary: Alpha Flight fights against a crack team of commandos in a mock invasion of Tamarind Island & wins. The Beta Flight members, Purple Girl & Manikin, get a chance to practice their powers under combat conditions. Afterwards, the team meets with their government liaison, Gary Cody. Heather argues with Cody about the government's apparent lack of trust in them. Cody's job is to monitor AF due to the government's concern regarding their strength, increasing independence & potential instability. In order to learn as much about them as possible, he secretly downloads the data on AF's computer onto a "raider disc" for analysis later. Heather apologizes to Cody for her words earlier & thanks him for his support.
