Things only get more unnatural and problematic once the story's two main threads come barreling into one another, and Spider-Man injects Waid and Peyer's tired schtick into a Vulture/JJJ confrontation that could and should have been driven by the same eerie atmosphere of the Vulture's early segments. Amazing Spider-Man #623 was a passable issue. After months of great Spider-Man issues this was the first issue of the series in a while that I was disappointed by. Waid did not do anything to make me interested in the new Vulture. If you are looking to read Amazing Spider-Man I recommend going out and reading the last few issues of this series, if you havent already, and pass on this story arc and waiting for the next story on Amazing Spider-Man. Forgettable is just about the worst thing I can say about any story driven purchase, whether it be a movie, book or comic. Inability to engage a reader on any level is a failure to me. So, while technically sound in both writing and art, I can't recommend this issue on any creative or entertainment level. Read Full Review
