  I remember finding this a bit of a joke the first time I read it. The art and way the Avengers are drawn is ridiculous but it does have some good pages here and there. The dialogue isn't great, though - it's very over-the-top and all these characters feel a little off from what I would consider normal human behaviour (and appearances, for that matter). Characters like Hawkeye and Swordsman practically read like children. Not to mention the mountain of exposition constantly being dumped on us and the cringe-inducing sense of humour to it.
  
  Loki finds his way to Earth and Thor frozen in amber (surrounded by ice in Norway?) with Loki having a vague sense of the history of the 616 universe. I think it's weird how the comic starts w ith most of the team formed and the focus is kind of on Thor and Loki finding their way into this story. Loki especially spends so much of this issue basically giving a roll call for the Avengers and it feels quite silly. That does ultimately lead to Loki tricking Thor into fighting the Avengers with him, which is something vaguely interesting, to the comic's credit.
  
  Even though there are clear differences, it really doesn't feel all that different from the usual Avengers set-up. It feels like a bit of a wasted opportunity for a reboot. Overall, this book isn't quite as terrible as I remembered, and it definitely could have pivoted into something great, but it is absolutely coated in flaws. more
