Behind The Panels - Richard Gray Aug 12, 2012

Special mention needs to be made of Javier Rodriguez's colouring, as it makes Davis's artwork pop all the more. Regular readers can rest assured that Mark Waid will be back on board for the exciting but far less upbeat story in the pages of the regular book. Read Full Review

    CHUD - Jeb Delia Aug 10, 2012

This is the first Davis book I've read in a while that I can't endorse without reservation: the script is simply not up to the level of his best, certainly not a patch on the breezy fun of last month's FF annual. But compared, say, with what his rough contemporary, Neal Adams, is offering these days, then just for the art alone, I'd say it's five bucks better spent. Read Full Review

    IGN - Benjamin Bailey Aug 8, 2012

In this issue, Daredevil crosses paths with the ClanDestine. It's less than compelling and not the kind of story that deserves to be stretched out with an extra long annual issue. Again, it's not bad and certainly does entertain, but once it's over you'll close the book and forget all about it. There is nothing lasting within this issue. It's a bummer, because Daredevil is a character that has been on my mind ever since Waid's relaunch. Read Full Review

    Razorfine - Alan Rapp Aug 12, 2012

I'm not sure it's worth $5 (in fact I'm pretty sure it's not), but given the struggle of the last couple of issues of Daredevil it's nice to see a different take on the character by a new writer. The highlight of the issue, at least for me, is the art of Mark Farmer who knows exactly how to draw the hero in action. For fans. Read Full Review

Multiversity Comics - Vince Ostrowski Aug 10, 2012

This annual could have capitalized on all the current Eisner success of Waid's Daredevil, but instead ended up letting Alan Davis do whatever he wanted. I guess that's fine, if you've been clamoring to read the ClanDestine somewhere again. Readers that want more of what Waid has been doing need not apply. Read Full Review

Comic Book Resources - James Hunt Aug 13, 2012

Perhaps "Daredevil Annual" #1 is merely suffering from its role as the middle part of a trilogy. Perhaps the standards of Waid's run are just impossible to live up to. In any case, there's nothing here that justifies a feature-length story or the extra cost of such. Only die-hard completists and ClanDestine enthusiasts need apply. Read Full Review
