  This is the comic adaptation of that old Howard the Duck movie. Well... This movie will forever be my guilty pleasure. I love Howard and I loved the story of that movie, plus it was mostly funny and had some really great ideas. I wish it could have better effects and costumes... But this adaptation actually just tells that same story with a good comic artstyle of those years. It can't be not perfect visually. This adaptation is pretty close to the source material, it isn't rushed, the pacing is truly great. Overall I like it even more, than the movie. That movie also had some incredibly long and boring scenes, like that one in the end with the plane. However, here it was short enough. Also it's funny how they changed the Dark Overlord here. .. I do like this version too. By the way, this also was reprinted as a 3 issue limited series "Howard The Duck: The Movie" and it had not only 3 original exclusive covers, but issues 2 and 3 also both had a completely new first page that wasn't present in this original comic. Those pages are basically just a typical retellings of the past events, it was common for that period of comic books, so they aren't really interesting, but I really love those new pictures. So if you have a chance to look at that limited series - go for the first pages of the issues 2 and 3 to throw a glance at those artworks. more
