If the Black Panther tie-in hadn't gotten off to such an incredibly entertaining start, Ms. Marvel #29 would easily be the best SI related story of the week. While it doesn't add a whole lot of narrative to the Invasion story (though it might, given how it ends), it brings the goods in the action department. Well worth checking out. Read Full Review
I can imagine more than a few readers who've just stopped by Ms. Marvel for the tie-in and wondering what the hell is so special about it. But for fans of the series and the character, this issue is pretty rewarding. Read Full Review
There are no big reveals here, unless you want to count the requisite cliffhanger at the end of the book which poses an intriguing mystery. Mostly, this comic is an old fashioned slugfest as Carol gets down to the business of bashing the skulls out of the invading Skrulls, and this is fine considering how slow the pace has been in the main title up to this point. Bro if I could give this an 11/10 I would! Adriana Melo has been hitting home run after home run with these war issues! The carnage, the destruction it's very dynamic in this and the flow of reading is mesmerizing and enticing panel by panel. Last ish and this ish Melo conjures up some really iconic moments for Ms. Marvel that look like they should be in film. As I'm reading this ish I'm thinking we should hire Zack Snyder to direct some Ms. Marvel movies and other Marvel stuff. Marvel needs some dark like this run has baby.
Oh and we find out that the Skrull that destroyed Carol's ship two three issues ago had the power of Nitro so when Carol punched her she blew up. We find this out here when Carol is being outnumbered by a ho more
