  (Cover Date: November, 1987) Summary: In New Mexico, Puma goes through a ritual to prove he is worthy of his power. His uncle tells him that he must express a measure of gratitude to Spider-Man for helping him against the Beyonder. On their honeymoon, Peter & MJ arrive at their villa in the south of France. At a restaurant, MJ encounters some her acquaintances to Peter's dismay. Returning to their villa, they find Thomas Fireheart (Puma) waiting for them. Fireheart offers him a job in his company, including a role working as Spider-Man. The next night, Peter comes to his office to tell Fireheart he is still undecided but will give it a shot. Fireheart gives him a mission to recover one of the Ova Ignata from St. Victor's Basilica where i t has been hidden by a smuggler. Fireheart gives him a copy of his Spidey uniform. Spidey finds the webbing is too brittle & has to concoct a new batch that is acidic. At the basilica, Spidey is confronted by three ninjas, who he drives off. He finds the egg & is confronted by an armed "priest" who wants the egg. An armed drone stuns the "priest" with a ray. After watching on video, Fireheart reveals that it is actually a test he created. Spidey avoids the drone, but then has to rescue the "priest" after the drone knocks him off a balcony. The egg is knocked loose from Spidey's hand by the drone & is ruined by Spidey's acidic webbing. Angered at probably losing the job, Spidey tears the drone apart & sees Puma's electronics inside it. MJ is at a hotel with her friends. Fireheart is there also waiting for Peter. Fireheart criticizes Peter for his work attitude in front of her. Peter shows up with the destroyed drone & torn up costume. Peter tells him that he was using sensors in the costume to gather data on him as Spidey. Fireheart tells him that the job offer was legitimate & that he wanted a trial run to see how he performed. Peter is angry that he wasn't able to earn the job on his own. Days later when Peter & MJ are about to leave, Fireheart shows up at the villa to apologize & reiterates that the job offer still stands. To make things even between them, Fireheart agrees to destroy his files & data on Spider-Man. more
