Summary: Mephisto holds Shalla Bal hostage & tells SS that he must destroy SHIELD before he will release her unharmed. Mephisto plants Shalla as an employee in the SHIELD installation. His intent is to have SS kill her, thereby driving him into madness, & then capturing his soul. SS discovers his plan & declares that their agreement is void, since Mephisto placed Shalla in harm's way.
