    This issue is essentially laying out the ground work for this story, and if there's one thing I'm been guilty of lately it's getting too far ahead of the actual story, so I'm going to resist the urge to complain about the lack of interaction between Spider-Man and Doctor Octopus in this issue, and the general confusion that I'm feeling at this stage of Doctor Octopus' plan. I will say that separately this issue has two very strong scenes involving each character, as the book opens with a great little scene between Peter and Mary Jane, where she is resetting his dislocated arm, and it's scenes like this that will wash out the bad taste of the mother hen with an ultimatum that writers turned Mary Jane into before they jettisoned her from the book. The scene where Doctor Octopus visits his childhood home and flashes back on his not so happy memories of the place was also well done, as was his interaction with the current owner of this house.
