Jun 17, 2009This is one book where I have difficulty finding any fault with. It's just so lovingly crafted it sees wrong to complain. That said, there are a handful of nitpicks to be had with this issue. The script comes to an abrupt halt at the end. This isn't the first time that problem has arisen, either. This story would probably work better as an OGN rather than a segmented mini-series. Also, with some two-thirds of the script being set inside the dark confines of the Emerald palace, Skottie Young's art just isn't allowed enough time to sparkle and shine. Make no mistake, this is still a beautiful comic, but it doesn't quite measure up to the other issues. Still, this issue is a definite favorite of mine for the month.
