To be completely forthright, I picked up this issue solely out of my curiosity to see what all the fuss surrounding Marvel 2099 was about, and because Marvel promoted it as a quasi-jumping on point for new readers. That Reed didn't make any real effort to introduce characters left me a little disappointed, but the best thing I can say about the issue is that I'm still curious, and will eagerly return to this world next month. And it should go without saying that if you're a Marvel 2099 fan, you'll undoubtedly get more out of this issue than I did.
