The secret is out! The whole world knows that the U.S. Government created mutants! Now, everyone with an X-Gene is mercilessly hunted and branded as a terrorist!
That story has reached a quizzical place because it is hard to say where it is going. Not that it ought to be predictable, but it lacks a central focus. The mutants are adding some new and familiar faces to their group while Stryker is unfolding his as-of-yet-revealed plan, but it is hard to point to a singular thread that all of these events are tied around. Spencer is gifted at telling long-form stories and likes to plant elements early on (try reading his excellent but maddeningly mysterious Morning Glories series by Image Comics), but looking at this issue by itself without being able to see the larger picture will leave the reader wanting. It's really not that interesting as it could be. By the way, Paco Madina's art is nice here, much better, than in 2003.
