  (Cover Date: February, 1969) Summary #1: Blastaar flies around the Negative Zone, bemoaning the fact that he is unable to conquer worlds as he wishes. Jean is testing one of Xavier's devices for converting matter into radio energy. The device overloads, somehow creating a connection to the Negative Zone, & allowing Blastaar to enter their world. Beast is blasted unconscious by Blastaar. Angel is also knocked to the ground in an aerial showdown with Blastaar. Iceman revives Beast using icy vapors. Jean has Iceman create two ice duplicates of himself, which Jean sends against Blastaar using her telekinetic power. Blastaar destroys them both with his power blasts. However, the water from a melted ice manniquin forms a link with the energy from the device & zaps Blastaar, apparently sending him back to the Negative Zone (the X-Men think he is dead, not knowing his origin). Summary #2: While Hank lies unconscious, El Conquistador's stolen solar generator is about be activated when the sun rises. Waking up, Hank tries to stop him but is thwarted by El Conquistador's kinetic trident. Cyclop, Angel & Bobby burst through the door. They make quick work of the guards. Instead of providing power to El Conquistador's machine, it is directed at him due to a mental adjustment by Xavier outside. The three X-Men have evacuated the exploding building due to Xavier's mental warning, along with Hank & his kidnapped parents. Later at the McCoy home, Hank is in uniform as the newest X-Man. His codename remains his boyhood nickname of Beast. more
