  David Lopez's art for this series has been consistently high quality, and he doesn't let up here. Colossus might be the bruiser on the team, but Storm's icy expressions make her far more intimidating than a muscular metal man could ever be. Lopez ramps up the visual intensity right in step with Wood's increasingly dire plot, making for one of the best X-Men stories on the shelf. Read Full Review

  I don't know if, post-Marvel NOW! we'll have more "X-Men" comics from Wood and Alvarez. I hope so, for our sakes. They're a good team and in just a couple of issues they've turned the flagging, forgotten title in the X-Books into one that I'm eagerly awaiting the next installment.   The best issue of the run so far. An incredibly well organised team, each perfectly put to their best use; by the goddess leader Storm. THIS IS STORM! This is the Storm her fans have waited for. We finally get a deeper look into her opinions of the recent "Schisms", what she would do if she were in-charge; and around all this we get some lovely characterization for Psylocke, Colossus, Domino and (an old school?)   Brian Wood's run isn't much more than your average plot for our merry mutants, but it never feels like a re-hash. If you're an old fan, you might not necessarily find anything new except for a contentious relationship between Storm and Colossus or Storm and Cyclops, but if you've never picked up an X-Men book in your life, you'll get a pretty good idea of what they're about.
