Lamentation #1 is an interesting debut. It takes a familiar concept and moves it to a new location, mixing things up more than enough to keep readers on their toes. As expected, the team delivers a great first comic that tells just enough and teases just enough to create a solid mystery and at the same time putting it in a situation that creates a bit of dread as to where it's all going. Great atmosphere in this comic. Horror/thriller that is fun to read and the mystery is enough to bring you back for the next issue. Overall a good read but the price is a bit scarier than the story.
Don't usually pick up mystery/thriller comics, but this was a happy surprise. The first issue starts the series strong.
